The director of Springfield’s public library has been fired… and Mayor Jim Langfelder’s office isn’t saying why.
Langfelder asked for Rochelle Hartman’s resignation Thursday, roughly two-and-a-half years after he hired her to run Lincoln Library. The city says her termination is a personnel matter and it cannot comment further on the move.
Langfelder plans to meet with library staff to get their views on library operations before making a decision on a replacement.
