Springfield health care providers have issued an open letter to the community urging people to get vaccinated and boosted against COVID and to take other precautions to slow the spread of the virus.

The letter… from HSHS, Memorial Health, SIU School of Medicine, and Springfield Clinic… says the medical community understands that people are tired of hearing the reminders, but that it’s still necessary to urge best practices to help people avoid becoming ill or spreading COVID to others.

In addition to urging people to get vaccinated or boosted, the institutions also are asking people to wear masks and to stay home if they are showing signs of illness.
