Wednesday was the highest one day total of COVID-19 cases in Sangamon County this year.
The Sangamon County Department of Public Health is reporting 242 new cases of COVID-19, more than double what it was the day before, bringing the total to 30,639. There were also 2 more deaths, a man in his 60s and a man in his 80s both of whom were not vaccinated.
The death toll now stands at 305.
