A school bus driver from Springfield was charged last week for possessing child pornography.
Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul charged 58-year-old Anthony Marconi of Springfield with eight counts of child pornography possession. Each charge is a class 3 felony punishable by up to five years in prison if convicted.
Springfield Police searched Marconi’s home on East Enos Avenue on Wednesday and found evidence of child sexual abuse material.
Marconi is employed as a school bus driver for First Student Inc. A spokesperson for First Student confirmed he was
placed on administrative leave, and the company is working with law enforcement on the investigation.
