Workers at the biggest newspaper chain in the country plan to walk off the job Monday in protest, but the job action won’t impact the State Journal-Register.
Union staffers at 24 Gannett newspapers in seven states will take part in the one-day work stoppage to protest steep job cuts across the company.
The SJ-R is owned by Gannett, but a representative of the Newspaper Guild says the local has a current contract in place and will not take part in Monday’s walkout.
