In this lengthy in-depth interview with Rockfeed, Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows reveals the much-publicized ‘artificial intelligence hack’ of the bands official podcast ‘Trax’ in Feburary, was an elaborate prank pulled off by the hard rock band. Yeah, we got fooled as it seems you can do a little too easily with the wave of creeptacular AI and deep fake voice tech. The podcast in question had a not-human voice state that AX7 who were coming off a five-year hiatus from live shows and releasing a new album ‘Life is But A Dream’ (dropping tomorow June 2nd) would be pulling out already advertised festival dates this summer. The band quickly took their official social media to debunk the hack and remind fans they were indeed playing the big festivals they were advertised for including Sonic Temple.
“Our management has two guys that run it. There’s Mark Wakefield and Beno [David Benveniste]. And we work really closely with this girl Samantha. So Samantha wasn’t even going to tell them, because we knew that everyone would say ‘no.’ I said, ‘Don’t tell anyone.'”
“She said, ‘We’ve got to call Danny [Wimmer, promoter of several festivals, including Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple promoter].’ [I said], ‘No. If you call Danny, he’s going to say ‘no’.’ She said, ‘We’ve got to tell [Ryan] Harlacher,’ who’s our booking agent. I’m, like, ‘No. Harlacher’s gonna say ‘no’.’ So we kept it secret,” the singer continues, “And we just did it. And I said, ‘Samantha, all you know is we got hacked and we are trying to fix it.’ She’s, like, ‘Are you serious?’ And I’m, like, ‘That’s what we’re doing.'” – M. The new album so far sounds quite adventurous with the already talented band testing their boundaries in songwriting, production, and the entire album process. The latest single from the album ‘We Love You’ lyrically appears about the intersection of consumerism and hustle culture. The track jumps all over the place in this very unpredictable way.
