Sad news to share today as we have learned that Wayne Shimmy, the founding guitarist of Saliva has passed away. Shimmy who was 59, reportedly suffered a spontaneous brain hemorrhage.
The band confirmed on social media on Tuesday that Wayne was dealing with a medical issue that required him to hospitalized. “He was transported to a hospital where he was diagnosed with a spontaneous hemorrhage in his brain,” the band wrote on Facebook hours before Swinny’s death. “He is currently in the ICU as we await further news. We ask that you keep him in your thoughts and prayers at this time.”
