He’s still not making an endorsement in the Republican primary for Illinois governor, but former President Donald Trump thinks Darren Bailey has the best chance to beat Democratic incumbent JB Pritzker in November.
Trump made the assessment in an exclusive interview with WMAY’s Greg Bishop. The former president acknowledged that it won’t be easy for any Republican to beat Pritzker, even though Trump says Pritzker has been a… quote… “terrible, terrible governor.” But he says Bailey would be formidable.
Trump also said he endorsed Mary Miller over Rodney Davis in the 15th Congressional District because Miller has been for him all the way, while Davis has said negative things about Trump at times.
