The first trailer for the horror film Slender Man debuted earlier this year and immediately earned a substantial amount of backlash for a number of reasons. The film was originally slated to hit theaters in May, though the studio ultimately decided to push its release date back to August 24th. The film’s release date has once again been changed by Sony Screen Gems, though the film has been moved forward and will now open in theaters on August 10th.
Fans are getting their first look at Jonah Hill’s skateboarding coming-of-age film, Mid90s. Stevie (Sunny Suljic), plays a 13-year-old living in L.A. who makes friends with kids who hang out at a skate shop. His older brother (Lucas Hedges) is equal parts loving friend and bully. The film drops October 19th.
Howie Mandel is going to host Deal or No Deal again. The reboot will debut on Wednesday, December 5th on CNBC.
ABC will wait until mid-October to premiere its Tuesday night lineup, led by Roseanne spinoff The Conners. The delay was caused by the abrupt cancellation of Roseanne in response to star Roseanne Barr’s racist comment on Twitter, and the two weeks of subsequent negotiations that led to the order of a Roseanne-free spinoff, The Conners which premieres Oct. 16th.
