Incredibles 2 had the biggest opening for an animated movie ever… taking the top spot at the weekend box office. The Disney/Pixar movie took in $180 million making it the best animated opening of all-time, the biggest PG-rated launch ever and the 8th biggest opening overall. Last weekend’s number one movie Ocean’s 8 fell to second with $19.6 million while Tag opened in third with $14.6 million.

Lucifer is headed to Netflix after being cancelled by Fox. Fox announced in March it was cancelling the series after three-seasons. Fans of the show launched a huge #SaveLucifer campaign on social media. And it worked, as Netflix announced it has picked up the show and season four will air on the streaming service.

CBS All Access’ Star Trek: Discovery its ousting showrunners Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts (who took over for Bryan Fuller). Exec producer Alex Kurtman, who guided the franchise and some of its films, is set to take over for Season Two. He will oversee the writers room as well. “We’ve made some producer changes at Star Trek: Discovery. The series continues under the creative vision and leadership of executive producer and co-creator Alex Kurtzman. Discovery remains on course for season two in 2019 with new and continuing stories that build on its successful premiere season,” producers CBS Television Studios said Thursday in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.
Apple says they’ve signed a multi-year deal with Oprah Winfrey to create original programs for their streaming service. Apple hasn’t launched their service yet, but the programming they’re getting from Oprah will be released worldwide as part of a lineup of original content.
Marvel Studios has released a new TV spot bringing together its two summer blockbuster films, Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp. Check out the footage above. Ant-Man and the Wasp opens in theaters on July 6th.
