Matthew Vaughn of Marv Films is planning to reboot his action-comedy Kick-Ass series. In an interview with Empire magazine, he hinted that the African-American single mom Patience Lee may be next in line to take center stage in the film version. “We’re going to reboot Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl,” Vaughn said in the interview. “Look what Mark Millar is doing with the comic for clues.” A third Kingsman film, titled Kingsman: The Great Game, is also set, Vaughn revealed. This iteration will explore the spy organization in the early 1900s.
Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is bringing together an incredible crew: James Marsden and Julia Butters are the latest to join in undisclosed roles. They are joining Leonardo DiCaprio as washed-up actor Rick Dalton, Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate, Al Pacino as Dalton’s agent Marvin Schwarz, in a film that centers on the Manson murders. No word yet on who will play evil mastermind Charles Manson.
HBO has ordered a pilot for a potential Game Of Thrones prequel. The pilot will take place thousands of years before the current series and “chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour.” HBO also teased the show will share the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history, the origin of the White Walkers and much more. It isn’t known when the pilot could air, but HBO’s president of programming said the network isn’t in any rush to find a followup to Game Of Thrones.
The female-driven version of the Ocean’s heist franchise opened at the top of the box office with $41.5 million. Despite mixed reviews, Ocean’s 8 managed to unseat Solo: A Star Wars Story. Solo landed in second place with $15.2 million on its third weekend. It has now grossed $176.1 million, well off its expected pace. With a budget of $70 million, it had the franchise’s best-ever opening weekend, where the previous inclusions all opened at $36 million-$39 million.

5. Avengers: Infinity War, $6.8 million
6. Adrift, $5.1 million.
7. Book Club, $4.2 million.
8. Hotel Artemis, $3.2 million.
9. Upgrade, $2.2 million.
10. Life of the Party, $2.1 million.
David Bar Katz and Todd Stashwick are co-writing the script for the Suicide Squad sequel, alongside Gavin O’Connor, who’s helming the film, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. The Jared Leto-starring original was panned critically, but earned $746 million worldwide. Legend of Tarzan‘s Adam Cozad had previously worked on a script to the sequel for Warner Bros. No release date has been set.
