The original duo that was the first incarnation of the band Filter, guitarist/singer Richard Patrick and keyboardist/guitarist Brian Liesegang, have reunited and intend to make a new album inspired by their breakthrough debut, 1995’s Short Bus.
Patrick posted a photo of himself with Liesegang online, stating, “Brian and I are making the official follow up to Short Bus (maybe), called Re-Bus.” (Photo is below.)
Liesegang followed Patrick’s post with one of his own on Filter’s official Instagram account. He explained, “We are gearing up for official reboot of initial Filter . . . Gonna be a full length, and its hard or maybe not right to call it a sequel, as it’s not so much that in that it is just a return to a certain approach and philosophy.”
Liesegang exited the band in 1997, while Patrick continued to record six more albums with a revolving cast of musicians under the Filter name.
