Last night was Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs between the Washington Capitals and Las Vegas Golden Knights. Neither team has won a Stanley Cup championship in team history and it’s extra special for Vegas to be in the final round as this is their inaugural season in the league.
After a close game, in the end, Washington edged out the Golden Knights 4-3 to win the series and while a lot of the coverage centered around Capitals’ captain Alex Ovechkin, a real emotional moment came from former St. Louis Blues fan favorite TJ Oshie.
In his postgame interview, Oshie spoke of his father, who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease and whether or not you’re a hockey fan, it hits you deep in the feels. Congrats, TJ and the rest of the Washington Capitals on a great season and becoming the 2018 Stanley Cup Champions.
