The Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel has found its villain with Jake Gyllenhaal cast as Mysterio. Mysterio is a long time Spider-Man villain created back in 1964 who is the master of illusion and deception. Michael Keaton will also be back as Vulture. The Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel has a July 5, 2019 release date with Jon Watts back as director.
Halle Berry and Anjelica Huston have joined the cast of John Wick: Chapter 3. The film, starring Keanu Reeves, will bring back Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, and Lance Reddick. It will be released by Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment label on May 17, 2019. Reeves’ character returns with a $14 million price tag on his head and an army of bounty-hunting killers on his trail. After killing a member of the shadowy international assassin’s guild, the High Table, John Wick is excommunicado, but the world’s most ruthless hit men and women await his every turn.
WWE wrestling show SmackDown Live is moving to the Fox network in October 2019. The show currently airs on the USA Network. The five-year deal is worth over $1 billion
The cast of the hit Netflix show Stranger Things feel that season 1 was playful, while the second season was rather dark. Series’ stars Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp are promising a fun mix of jokes and scares in the upcoming third season. Also, expect Eleven to be in the mix a bit more with the main cast, at least more than the previous episodes: “It’s a beautiful storyline for Eleven this season,” Brown confirmed. “It’s really a coming of age for her and understanding what being a normal teenage girl is.”
Yesterday, DC unveiled it’s first official images from it’s upcoming Shazam! movie. Shazam! will open in theaters on April 5, 2019. The film stars Levi, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Ron Cephas Jones, Grace Fulton, Asher Angel, Marta Milans, Cooper Andrews, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Caroline Palmer, and Andi Osho.
Former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama signed a multi-year deal to create new programming for Netflix. The Obamas will produce a diverse mix of content, including the potential for scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries and features under their newly-established Higher Ground Productions company.
