Ryan Reynolds packs some serious silliness into the last promo before the May 18th release of Deadpool 2. The sequel is a follow-up to the 2016 original, the highest grossing X-men film in history, with $783 million worldwide. A lot of fan service in this trailer!
John Travolta has worked with Quentin Tarantino and Oliver Stone, but his favorite director is … Fred Durst. The 64-year-old Pulp Fiction star is filming a thriller called Moose directed by the Limp Bizkit frontman, and he tells TMZ that it “may be my favorite experience I’ve had.” He continued: “He’s so generous, and he’s such an artist. He allowed me to create a character that nobody else would allow.”
“They killed my friend,” Denzel Washington says in the new trailer for Sony’s The Equalizer 2. “So I’m going to kill each and every one of them, and my only disappointment is I only get to do it once.” Washington is returning in the role of Robert McCall, who Sony describes as a man who “serves an unflinching justice for the exploited and oppressed – but how far will he go when that is someone he loves?” The film drops July 20th.
Netflix may purchase movie theaters in Los Angeles and New York in order to show its programming. Purchasing theaters would allow Netflix movies to be eligible to be nominated for Academy Awards. A source tells the paper; “Netflix wants to establish itself as a critical exhibition source on both coasts. For awards consideration they need to be able to release pictures on screens in major markets.”
Taron Egerton will star as in Elton John in Rocketman, the biopic about the famed singer. The film will include Elton’s emergence as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music to becoming a music superstar and his partnership with songwriting collaborator Bernie Taupin. Elton John broke out with the 1973 album “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” which topped the charts for two months in the U.S. and U.K. Egerton has starred in the Kingsman films, as well as Eddie the Eagle, Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels and Layer Cake.
Christina Aguilera will play a sex robot prostitute alongside Ewan McGregor in the new movie, Eve. The film is set in the near future and features McGregor as a robot engineer who falls in love with one of the artificial creations. Eve‘s director Drake Doremus said Aguilera contacted him before the casting process had even begun, made her interest clear and never stop pushing for the chance to prove she could do it.
