Ketchup slices, anyone?
Los Angeles based company Slice of Sauce was created by mistake when a woman was experimenting with a family recipe for barbeque sauce. She was trying to make a dry rub but it came out in a “fruit roll-up” form. She put it on a sandwich just to see what it was like and found out it was delicious.
However, it is not on the shelves yet. The business partners launched a Kickstarter campaign in hopes of raising enough money to get their product into production. They’ve already exceeded their original goal of $15,000.
They’re calling it a solid form of a condiment. A lot like a fruit roll-up, but softer, so it melts a little bit when it’s on a burger. The creator says it’s just a really flavor-packed way to get ketchup across.
