Universal Pictures has selected June 11, 2021 as the release date for Jurassic World 3, the third movie in the new Jurassic Park film franchise. Colin Trevorrow — director of 2015’s Jurassic World and co-writer of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom — will return to team with Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim Uprising) on the script.
Ray Liotta is going to be on The Simpsons. The Shades of Blue actor was cast as Moe’s father, Morty Szyslak for an upcoming episode of the long-running animated Fox series. Liotta will lend his voice to a character described as a more cunning, evil version of Moe. The episode which is set to air April 15th will reveal more of the bartender’s backstory than we’ve even seen before.
Disney’s forthcoming streaming service will likely feature several remakes and reboots, according to reports. The programming for the as-yet-unnamed service is being headed up by Agnes Chew, who is lining up family-friendly shows, like a live-action Star Wars and a reboot of The Muppets, according to The Hollywood Reporter. High School Musical and a series based on Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. and The Mighty Ducks may also get the reboot treatment.
Christopher Nolan recently declared himself out of the running to direct Bond 25, and the latest name getting floated as a strong contender is the Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting). Variety reports that MGM is in serious talks to hire the filmmaker to take over from Sam Mendes. However, there is no deal in place as of yet.
Netflix has slotted its remake of Lost in Space for an April 13th launch, and it also shared a first look at the show. The original 1965 cult TV show was created by sci-fi master Irwin Allen on 1965. Interestingly, the film has already been seen in space. Netflix gave NASA access to the pilot episode 12 days ago (transmitting it 12 days ago to the International Space Station for astronauts to view). Lost in Space, which follows the story of the Robinson family, is set 30 years in the future when space has been colonized.
Mark Hamill will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on March 8th. Star Wars creator George Lucas and Harrison Ford will emcee the event.
Chris Tucker tells ESPN that he and Jackie Chan are working on Rush Hour 4. “It’s happening. This is gonna be the rush of all rushes. “Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it.”
