The Good, The Bad & The Nerdy for February 1, 2018
Oscar nominees Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear are joining the cast of House of Cards as the final season resumes without Kevin Spacey. Production has been shut down for months after sexual assault allegations emerged against Spacey. As previously reported, this final season will revolve around Robin Wright’s Claire Underwood, the wife to Spacey’s Frank. A premiere date for the final season has not yet been shared.
Meghan Markle and Patrick J. Adams may be wrapping up their Suits runs in season 7, but Dule Hill will remain onboard and USA Network has officially renewed the hit show for its eighth season. The second half of season seven returns March 28th at 9 p.m. on USA. The grand goodbye will take place in a two-hour wedding-themed season finale set for April 25th.
Keeping with Suits, Katherine Heigl is joining Suits Season 8 as a series regular. Heigl will play Samantha Wheeler, a talented new partner at Pearson Specter Litt who will either become the firm’s greatest ally or most powerful enemy. She joins returning series regulars Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, Rick Hoffman, and new series regular Dulé Hill, as mentioned above.
Well done, Tourism Australia, well done. A publicity stunt to bring awareness to an entire country is working as people are getting really excited for a fake movie Dundee, which you can watch a fake trailer for above.
Finally, huge news coming out of Nintendo this morning, at least for fans of the Mario Kart games. Looks like the popular racing franchise is hitting our phones within the next year. Unfortunately, that’s about all we know at this point. Will it be free to download or will there be a cost? How many players can compete per race? How bad will I suck at this version too?
