The Good, The Bad & The Nerdy for December 27, 2017
BBC has officially released the regeneration clip from this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special, “Twice Upon a Time,” showing Jodie Whittaker taking over from Peter Capaldi to become the Thirteenth Doctor. Watch the clip above.
A scene in Star Wars: The Last Jedi has prompted some theaters to post a warning. When Holdo (Laura Dern) crashes her ship to sacrifice herself to save the resistance, all sound is cut and the image of the final crash becomes the sole focus. AMC decided to post a message to resolve the confusion that seems to have resulted: “Please note: The Last Jedi contains a sequence at approximately 1 hour and 52 minutes into the movie in which ALL sound stops for about 10 full seconds. While the images continue to play on the screen you will hear nothing. This is intentionally done by the director for a creative effect.”
While Justice League itself divided audiences & critics, almost everyone agrees that Ezra Miller’s performance as The Flash was a stand-out. The above clip, from JL itself, proves why audiences love the character.
Finally, Marvel gifted fans with a new TV spot teasing the release of Black Panther on Christmas Day. The clip showcases a new glimpse at Ryan Coogler’s film, starring Chadwick Boseman as the Wakandan king T’Challa alongside Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis and others. Give it a looksee:
