Netflix is rebooting Sabrina The Teenage Witch.. and it won’t have much in common with the Melissa Joan Hart comedy from the 90s. It’ll be a “dark coming-of-age story” with Sabrina battling the forces of evil. Originally scheduled to be a companion series to the CW’s Riverdale, Netflix stole the series by signing the program to a full 10-episode first season. The creative team behind Riverdale is still scheduled to write for Sabrina.
Sony has dated Quentin Tarantino’s ninth as-of-yet-untitled film for August 9th, 2019, according to Deadline. The date lands on the 50th anniversary of Sharon Tate’s murder at the hands of Charles Manson and his followers. Margot Robbie is in talks to play Tate, with Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio also reportedly in talks for to take on various roles. Production begins next year.
The Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom trailer debuts this Thursday. We now have a reason to get out of bed this day.
Congratulations to Netflix’s Stranger Things for officially being renewed for a 3rd season!
Johnny Galecki is set to appear in ABC’s Roseanne revival. He will only return for one episode for his role as David. Until the confirmation, Galecki’s return was up in the air because of CBS’ The Big Bang Theory. The entire original cast will be featured: Roseanne Barr (Roseanne), John Goodman (Dan), Sara Gilbert (Darlene), Laurie Metcalf (Jackie), Michael Fishman (D.J.) and Lecy Goranson (Becky). Sarah Chalke, who played the character Becky in later seasons, will also appear in another role.
Finally, congratulations heads Disney-Pixar’s way for another weekend atop of the box office. Coco remained in the #1 position with $26.1 million made over the weekend. Justice League kept at #2 with $16.6 million, and Wonder rounded out the top 3 with $12.5 mill.
