The Good, The Bad & The Nerdy for November 15, 2017
It can’t be any worse than the 1993 version, can it? Nintendo and Universal are nearing a deal to bring the famous video game (former) plumber back to the big screen. Super Mario Bros will be the first in a few Nintendo projects expected to be in theaters over the next few years.
Speaking of Mario, this video clip might be the most hypnotic thing I’ve seen all month:
Ben Affleck AND Matt Damon both auditioned to be Robin in the 1989 Batman??? As you know, Robin didn’t appear until the 3rd movie in that Bat-franchise, but Ben Affleck has the story about Warner Bros considering him for the role, in the video above.
Below is our 1st look at Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the upcoming movie, Rampage, based off of the classic video game. Think this can break the mold of video game movies, actually be GOOD?
Finally, Paramount Pictures is moving ahead with a film adaptation of the former hit Nickelodeon show Are You Afraid of the Dark. Gary Dauberman, the scribe behind the recent It adaptation, will pen this script. “We’re going to honor the darker, scarier tone of the show, which was really groundbreaking for Nickelodeon at the time. I hope the Midnight Society approves.”
