Above, Brazilian artist Victor Hugo illustrates a connecting variant cover that celebrates the past, present, and possible future of Jean Grey / Phoenix. The cover pieces will appear as variants for Jean Grey #11 issues #2-5 of Phoenix Resurrection, with each individual cover featuring a version of Jean and her fellow X-Men from different eras of Marvel history.
A new Star Wars film trilogy AND TV series has been announced! Helmed by The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, the new trilogy of movies will be “separate from the episodic Skywalker saga” and “will introduce new characters from a corner of the galaxy that Star Wars lore has never before explored.” Additionally, a live-action Star Wars TV series will air on Disney’s new entertainment streaming service, expected to launch in 2019.
Speaking of Disney, they’re working on brand new, original shows for this upcoming streaming service, announcing a new mystery Marvel Studios project, as well as shows for Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. franchise and Disney Channel’s tween-aimed High School Musical franchise.
Finally, below is the first official look at our new Doctor! Jodie Whittaker is the first female doctor in Doctor Who history and the fan buzz is already pretty enormous. Whittaker will take over as the series lead in season 11, which will also be the debut of new series showrunner Chris Chibnall, one of the main writers on the Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood.
