The Good, The Bad & The Nerdy for November 9, 2017
Above is the original Michael Meyers mask used in the hit horror movie Halloween. Being a cheap mask, even for the time, it hasn’t held up as well as other movie props. I think it held up pretty well considering. READ MORE ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE MASK.
Keeping with the horror theme, what do you think the post popular horror movie in Illinois is? What about the rest of the US? This graphic has you covered:
Universal’s Dark Universe -a whole “universe” full of monsters interacting with one-another in various, connected movies – might be done.. after only one movie. Dark Universe Creative Directors Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan have reportedly left Universal to pursue projects elsewhere. Leaving the future of the D.U. in doubt following the box office flopping of Tom Cruise’s The Mummy, and following the indefinite delay of production for the 2nd film, The Bride of Frankenstein. Angelina Jolie was set to star but she has already dropped out of the project.
New movies in theaters tonight, hoping to make a dent in Thor: Ragnarok’s dominance, include..
Daddy’s Home 2: Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Mel Gibson
Murder on the Orient Express: Johnny Depp, Kenneth Branagh, Daisy Ridley, Josh Gad, many others
Finally, it seems that Blade Runner 2049 will be ending it’s theatrical run with some heavy losses. The sequel to the 1982 cult classic had some big stars in it but that wasn’t enough to carry it to it’s goal of $400 million. High production & marketing costs, combined with a lack of interest at the box office will see ‘2049’ take $80 million ins losses! Ouch.
