The Good, The Bad & The Nerdy for November 1, 2017
Stranger Things dominated Twitter over the weekend, setting a new record at the same time. The series became the most tweeted-about show in 2017 during the course of an opening weekend, with more than 3.7 million tweets over just three days.
The most mentioned character was Eleven, followed by Will, Steve, Hopper and Dustin. However, if you’ve been keeping up with social media, it looks like Hopper may continue to rise in the rankings, as the “Dancing Hopper” meme has become incredibly popular.
In a rare Wednesday box office opening, A Bad Mom’s Christmas opens up today. Check out the “red band” trailer above. Producers hoping releasing the movie a day early will help revenue before Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok opens Thursday, crushes the competition.
One day after announcing that House of Cards will end after the upcoming 6th season, Netflix has halted all production on the show’s final season, to give themselves & production team Media Rights Capital time to review Kevin Spacey’s current “situation.”
Ron Howard recently took over directing of the new Star Wars prequel Solo, taking over the project with well over 50% of the production already filmed. However, new reports state that Howard has reshot 80% of the film to better match his vision and will be costing Lucasfilm & Disney DOUBLE the production cost. What’s another few hundreds of millions of dollars, right?
Lastly, coming soon (exclusively) to the streaming service CBS All Access, is a new televised comedy from the writing team behind Anchorman, Step Bros and others – Will Ferrell & Adam McKay. Enjoy this look at No Activity:
