Chester Bennington, the man singer for Linkin Park has committed suicide at the age of 41.
TMZ is reporting that California Law Enforcement officials discovered the singer had hanged himself in his private residence in Los Angeles on Thursday morning, just before 9:00AM PST. Linkin Park bandmate, Mike Shinoda confirmed the tragic news via Twitter.
Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one.

Bennington has struggled with substance abuse over the years and the singer mentioned committing suicide in previous interviews, stating he was abused as a child. In a weird situation of irony, Bennington commited suicide on the day that Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell would have turned 53-years-old, the latter of which committed suicide back in May and whom Bennington performed at his funeral.
He leaves behind 6 children from his two marriages. #RIPChesterBennington
