The Angels pitcher goes down after line drive, has to have surgery to stop bleeding.
It was bottom of the 2nd on Sunday’s game when Matt Shoemaker took the line drive to the right side of the head. As you see in the video below, he tried to block it but still took the hit pretty hard and fell to the ground.
According to Angels manager Billy Eppler, Matt had CT scans every two to three hours. Upon the third image showing increased bleeding, surgery was needed.
They were able to seal it, stop the bleeding. He was wheeled back up into recovery and is recovering fine.
Thankfully a full recovery is expected but the video below shows you how scary it was.
