The way he talks about it you may think it’s a new child … but it’s not. Slash’s new album with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators is taking just as long as a baby takes to pop out of the womb. Plus, just like an unborn child the new album doesn’t quite have a name yet. Slash does say that it’s “very rock ‘n’ roll, and very diverse”. In an interview with Kerrang Magazine, Slash says he’s super proud of what they’ve collected so far. As for the production, Slash says he’s taking a different approach on the forthcoming album. The shredder says the band will record the tracks live and then go back and overdub more intricate parts. Pervious albums were either recorded directly to tape, recorded live or used Pro Tools. Slash isn’t a fan of the digital recording process. He says he wants more depth. And taking to twitter, Slash says he’s so f**king excited, not just for the new tunage, but also for the tour this summer with Aerosmith. The “Let Rock Rule” tour will be in Tinley Park July 25th.
Sixx vs Erna
Not only is he a rock star diva, he’s also a radio show host diva … and coming from a radio guy … those are the worst! Nikki Sixx is ripping on Godsmack for apparently requesting to appear on the Sixx Sense radio show. In a tweet Sixx says Godsmack begged to be on his radio show to promote their s**t new album. He also pokes fun saying “Good luck touring phonebooths. Whos crying like a bitch now?” “Crying like a bitch” is a reference to a Godsmack tune the band attributed to writing after Godsmack toured with Motley Crue back in 2009 and the song is said to be written about Nikki Sixx. Godsmack front man Sully Erna pleaded the 5th when asked directly if the song is about Sixx. Sixx’s tweet is the latest in a series of tweets over the years directed at Erna for various things from his height to his career. Makes for some good rock star diva drama!
