  All Day Holiday Book Drive   The 4th annual Holiday Book Drive will take place during the month of November. New books for children (ages birth to age 12) are being collected and will be distributed at Christmas time to needy children in the area, You can help by dropping off new books at one of the following sites: Chatham Area Public Library, Chatham Presbyterian Church, Rochester High School, Rochester Elementary (2-3 building), Williamsville Library, Williamsville Methodist Church, Sherman Elementary, Trinity Lutheran Preschool Auburn, State Journal Register, Safe School Program (Capital Career Center), or Bridge Club of Springfield. Checks may be made out to Holiday Book Drive and sent to Bank & Trust P.O. Box 228 Chatham, IL 62629. Every dollar donated will go directly to the purchase of new books.
 
  All Day Hope For The Holidays Fine Art/Craft Fair   Hope Presbyterian Church 5th Annual Juried Fine Arts and Craft Fair will feature artists from several neighboring states. Watercolor, mixed media, pottery, fiber arts, photography, jewelry plus handmade soaps. Specialty baskets will be raffled to benefit Hope Presbyterian's International Mission Fund and the local Animal Protective League.   10:00AM 4:00PM Springfield SDA 2nd Annual Fall Craft Show 11-03   Fall Craft show on Sunday November 03 from 10am to 4pm. There will be many vendors with homemade items, Scentsy, Thirty-One and many more.
 
  3:00PM n/a Springfield Youth Performance Group Auditions   The Springfield Youth Performance Group (SYPG), an organization spotlighting young talent from the Springfield area, will hold dance auditions on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, for its upcoming production of the classical ballet, Snow White. Auditions will be held at Springfield Dance, 5531 International Parkway, Springfield. Registration for dance auditions will be held from 4:00 – 4:30 p.m. with auditions from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Dance auditions are open to children ages 7 to 13 and numerous parts are available for both boys and girls. Children must be enrolled in a dance class at any dance studio to audition. They will be taught choreography at the audition. All participants must arrive by the close of registration and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Girls should have their hair in a bun and wear a black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Boys should wear a white t-shirt, black pants and black ballet or jazz shoes. General information about auditions is available at www.sypg.org. SYPG will present Snow White on February 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Hoogland Center for the Arts. The magic and mystery of this engaging classic children’s story will be brought to life with original choreography by Ronda Brinkman.
