Spring 3 on 3 hocky |

The Springfield Park District – Nelson Center 3 on 3 Hockey League begins March 26th, 2013. These recreational games are designed for kids to play at a fast, fun pace while increasing the amount of puck handling and shots on goal, as opposed to full ice games. There will be two games, simultaneously, depending on number of registrations. Teams will be supervised/coached on ice during game play.

The Springfield Park District will be offering after school lap swim hours beginning March 1 at Eisenhower Pool (2351 E. Cornell St.).

Monday - Friday 7 – 9 a.m., 11 a.m. – 1 p.m./ Monday, Wednesday and Friday 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m./ Monday and Wednesday 8:30 p.m. – 9:45 p.m. / Sunday 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Family Swim Hours: Friday 7 – 9 p.m./ Sunday 2 – 4 p.m.

American Cancer Society Cancer Prevention Study-3 |

The American Cancer Society will host a Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3) kick-off event to recruit area residents interested in spreading the word about the importance of participating in a historic nationwide study that will help researchers better understand the genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors that cause or prevent cancer.
At the kick off, participants will receive all the information they need to educate community members about the study and how they can make an appointment to enroll between May 1 and May 22 at sites throughout Springfield and Taylorville.
