Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has filmed a video in which he updates fans on his recovery from health issues related to blood clots in his arms.
It was revealed last month that Barker had been diagnosed with clots in each of his arms, with his condition also leading to Barker coming down with a staph infection and an infection of the skin called cellulitis.
In the video, Barker says, “It’s been the longest four weeks without playing drums. I played through two shows in Vegas with infection and blood clots before I was able to get a clear diagnosis from a doctor.” The video begins with footage of Barker performing with Blink and then goes inside a meeting with his doctor, who informs him of the diagnosis and says he has to be monitored “week by week.”
Barker’s condition forced Blink to postpone a number of shows that were part of its ongoing Las Vegas residency, but the dates are already in the process of being rescheduled. The band is now set to return to the stage on September 14th at Chicago’s Riot Fest
