The Good, The Bad & The Nerdy 11/14: Lord of the Rings TV Show Confirmed, Wonder Woman 2 Move, New DVDs

The Good, The Bad & The Nerdy for November 14, 2017

To follow up on last week’s rumors, Amazon made it official yesterday: The Lord of the Rings is coming to television! Amazon’s streaming service has committed to several seasons focusing on characters new & familiar, with the story taking place before the first LOTR movie. Production is set to begin in 2018.

Wonder Woman 2 will now be released in theaters earlier than planned. The movie will be released on November 1st, 2019, instead of December 13th, 2019. Gal Gadot will return to play Wonder Woman and Patty Jenkins is back to direct the sequel.

A report over the weekend of Gal Gadot refusing to do a WW sequel if director/producer Brett Ratner was involved is false. Ratner has been accused of sexual assault and harassment by several actresses in Hollywood. His production company RatPac-Dune Entertainment helped finance Wonder Woman. It seems, by the time WW2 is made the deal between Warner Bros and RatPac Dune will have expired.

I agree with #1. Are these the 50 best superhero movies of all-time?

Only one “big” movie available on DVD & Blu-Ray today in Atomic Blonde. Now available for streaming is Amityville: The Awakening and In This Corner of the World.
